PRESENTATION:
Tzacatal, which means thanks in Tojolabal, a Chiapas indigenous language,
takes his name as a tribute to the simplicity and force of the Zapatista Culture, met
during a journey in the February 2005.
Tzacatal is a small but cool and powerful brass band (Baritone Sax, Alto Sax, Trumpet) embellished by a sinuously moving bellows and lots of percussive elements. Tzacatal compositions, originals and far from being easy to tag, have got for sure a lovely Latin taste, “cumbiesc” and with jazz sparks, often stumbling in a east European sound. Joyful, but without avoiding some brainy excursions, they propose themselves and their excellent music all around the world unplugged and not.

Tzacatal enjoys very much playing in street festivals as well being able to gather around its music
many different people bringing and shouting joy, energy and sparkling vibes from the eclectics, jazzy, latin and lovely notes and atmosphere that this magnificent band is able to create around themselves.
